- The operational solar park has recently begun feeding green electricity into the grid
- By combining a feed-in tariff and a power purchase agreement, Tion Renewables benefits from a smart electricity commercialization and a contractually secured energy offtake until 2044
Munich, January 15, 2025. Tion Renewables Group (“Tion Renewables“, in short: “Tion“), a renewable energy producer active in five European countries and headquartered in Munich, Germany, has acquired its 15th solar park in Germany.
The plant, which was completed and became operational in 2024, has an installed capacity of around 26 megawatts (MW), is located in Klosterheide, eastern Germany, and is expected to generate around 26 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green electricity annually. The plant was sold by Sunovis, a project developer and EPC of turnkey solar parks in Germany, based in Baden-Württemberg.
Tion benefits from a combined offtake solution: In addition to the feed-in tariff over a period of 20 years, a PPA with a term of 10 years from 2024 has been concluded. Through the PPA, the electricity price from the contractually secured electricity commercialization will exceed the feed-in tariff until 2034.
“Our latest acquisition exemplifies that we do not grow at all costs. Instead, we decide for the smartest offtake solutions possible,” said Christoph Strasser, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Tion Renewables.
